The chart below identifies the number of hours per year that a shadow might fall on the closest residences. All the conditions must be right for the shadow to occur (full sun in winter months in early morning or late afternoon.) The “hours per day” is an average. As an average, it means that the longest incidence of shadow may be up to 15 minutes and then less as the winter months pass.
